The Christmas season usually finds him performing in pantomime, his roles ranging from the Town Crier in Dick Whittington singing the rock music of super group Emmerson, Lake and Palmer to the village idiot Simple Simon in Jack And The Beanstalk singing the pop music of Bucks Fizz with Mike Nolan.

In 1989 Dave starred as Dandini opposite Jess Conrad in Cinderella at Bradford Alhambra and was subsequently invited to play the same role the following year with Paul Nicholas. This was to be a role he performed for the following four years in the record breaking adult pantomime Sinderella starring Jim Davidson and Charlie Drake which played at all major theatres throughout the UK including seasons at the Cambridge and Shaftsbury Theatres in London's West End. The sequel, Sinderella Comes Again in 2005 took audiences and the reviewers by storm and toured Britain throughout the year.
